Channel 4 has picked up the rights to broadcast two new series that are proving huge successes in America.
Channel 4 head of acquisitions Gill Hay has picked up the new series from CBS Studios International for More4 and E4.
The Good Wife, starring Emmy Award winner and former ER favourite Julianna Margulies, Chris Noth in a recurring role, and Archie Panjabi, will make its UK debut on More4 (and be repeated on Channel 4).
Accidentally On Purpose, starring Jenna Elfman and Ashley Jensen, will premiere in the UK on E4. Both new series are scheduled for broadcast in 2010.
Gill Hay said: "The Good Wife is an exceptional drama with a prestigious cast and we are extremely proud to add this to More4's wide-ranging portfolio of high quality US series. And Accidently On Purpose completes E4's vibrant line up of brand new acquisitions."
Stephen Tague for CBS Studios International: "We are pleased to share The Good Wife and Accidentally On Purpose with UK audiences. The sophisticated new drama The Good Wife has received critical acclaim and much attention for its star Julianna Margulies. Accidentally On Purpose has shown to be a great addition to CBS's Monday comedy line-up. These series should prove as successful for More4 and E4 as they have in the United States for CBS. "
