Cheryl Cole could be Tardis-bound.

BBC bosses are allegedly keen to cast her in the new series of Doctor Who.

The Daily Mirror reports that while no deal has yet been struck, the Beeb thinks X Factor judge Cheryl could play a big part in the show.

The paper quotes an inside source as saying. "If she can find the time, a part will be written for her."

However, the Girls Aloud singer is one of ITV's biggest stars and the Beeb would likely have a fight on their hands in any bid to bring her onto the rival channel.

Bookies Paddy Power are offering 6/1 odds that Cheryl will guest star in the Doctor Who Christmas specials and 12/1 that she becomes the Doctor's assistant by the end of next year.
