More about EastEnders

EastEnders is an award winning BBC soap and currently ranks within the top of the most watched shows in the country.

Set in the East End of London in the fictional Albert Square, the soap is famous for the 'social-realism' of its family-orientated storylines. Some of the more famous ones include the domestic violence between Trevor and 'Little Mo' Slater. It can also boast the highest rating of a British soap in history when 'Dirty Den' Watts handed over divorce papers to Angie back in 1986 - attracting 30.15 million viewers on Christmas Day 1986.

With the ashes of Archie's ill-fated arson attempt at the Vic still smouldering, Peggy is warned against getting involved with her deceitful husband again by a concerned Pat who has been around the block long enough to know when someone is up to no good.

As if Peggy hasn't had enough to deal with, she is soon left reeling by claims that Archie's cancer has returned. Will she come to her senses and realise that Archie was the arsonist all along?

Elsewhere in the Square, Ian's personal life goes from bad to worse following his spat with Jane over her adoption plans as he misreads signals from Tanya leading to much embarrassment for the downtrodden husband.

Meanwhile, Lucy is worried about the affect that Jane's absence is having on her father and decides to meet with Ian's adulterous other half. However, their meeting is less productive than she had hoped for. Can Jane keep her kiss with Masood a secret?

When she's not trying to salvage what is left of Ian and Jane's relationship, Lucy tries her hand at self-defence classes as she becomes convinced that Syed was her attacker and she soon plucks up the courage to go to the police to reveal all about her ordeal.

The writers for Eastenders need a reality check They seem to think the only way to get rid anyone is to run them over ie tiffany, phills wife, jamie, the girl pat run over, ect.to name but a few sex incest imorality abounds i will now stop wathing my once favorite soap untill a new team comes up with a beleavable storyline

What a dreadful place Albert Square is. So many murders, shootings etc. Marriage breakdowns, criminal activities and miserable folk. I should hate to live in theis surreal world. The east end was never like this when i worked there

I absolutely love Eastenders. For everyone who don't love it, YOUR SAD PEOPLE!! HA HA

Terry.

Dave
It is the most immoral and amoral show on TV. It has little to do with reality and how it manages ever to get awards is beyond me as it seems to operate at gutter level perpetually. It mainly consists of arguments with screaming from end to end. I cannot condemn it strongly enough - the English language does not have the words.

I agree with Alex- why isn't it on every day!!! Love it!!! Great to see Ricky and Bianca back in it too, woo hoo!!!

I try very hard not to watch any of the major soaps because I have a theory that they are all written by the same team. East Enders in particular (from what I hear through 2 closed doors) seems to consist of some 28 minutes of people shouting, screaming and falling out with each other. That's when they're not swopping jobs and partners of course. Many scenes seem to have absolutely no logic or reason, and characters just drift in and out with no introduction or explaination as to where they've suddenly appeared from. If ever my wife and I divorce (unlikely after almost 45 years, I shall cite East Enders in the papers!!
