The B3315 drops into Newlyn, Cornwall's largest fishing port, heralded by large fishing sheds and a busy harbour. You can watch the boats come in, and visit the last working salt pilchard works, a tour of which passes a surprisingly entertaining hour or so.
Newlyn used to have picturesque squalor and attracted many artists; it has been much tidied up, but in New Road there is an art gallery of works by contemporary artists.
