Here you will dine on fine local produce including hand dived scallops and 36 hour cooked beef, so beautiful it could bring a tear to your eye.Editor's favourites

- The amazing five course evening meal in the charming dining room - a wonderfully relaxing way to end the day after exploring the wild and rugged landscapes of Skye.
- Beautifully furnished bedrooms and bathrooms. We especially love the Dr. Johnson. room with huge four poster wooden bed and luxurious free standing bath.
- The fantastic views over to Loch Harport and the famous Cuillin Mountains from the lodge.
- The warm and cosy lounge with log fire - perfect for afternoon tea or as a location for star spotting at night through the lodge telescope.
- The sympathetic interior décor. The Lodge dates back to the 1700s and although freshly renovated it still retains its old country charm.
An evening at the Ullinish Country Lodge

If beef is on the menu when you visit - make sure you order it! It melted in the mouth, had an incredible depth of flavour and was succulent with no dryness what so ever despite the fact it had been cooked for 36 hours. You'll have to ask the chef how he does itâÃâ¬Ã¦
The skate was deletectable. Superbly presented and delivered with a delightful sauce accompanied with froth and a pretty little courgette flower stuffed with the most heavenly goo imaginable! And this wasn't just my opinion - the table of cheery ladies behind me were full of fond exclamations at the sheer beauty of the presentation of each dish and were constantly cooing with each morsel.
The dining area is low lit and intimate. Pottery and other traditional island fancies adorn the shelves and attractive cabinets in dark wood are home to vases of fresh flowers. This is also where the well stocked bar houses everything you could imagine from local spirits to decadent bottles of champagne...
