Family walks in the UK
Children's Story Trails, Clune Wood, Aberdeenshire
1-2 miles, 1-1.5 hours
Where does it go?
There are three gentle trails – Blue is just a mile, Red and Green are two miles – in this beautiful wood, part of the Durris Forest. As they walk past towering Douglas firs, the kids will find chapters of magical stories (with luck, they won't even notice they're on a walk).
What will we see?
You may well spot buzzards, red squirrels or roe deer. At points there are great views of the surrounding countryside. There's no café, so bring a picnic.
