Add a Vista-style sidebar to Windows XP

Author: Computeractive staff
Date: 29-10-2008

The Windows Vista Sidebar is a bar that runs down the side of the screen and is home to a variety of useful programs and tools, usually called gadgets or widgets. There are alternatives open to Windows XP users who want to achieve the same effect, but these are often rather large, so they can slow down the performance of a typical home PC.Spyderbar is different. At less than 3MB it’s a small download and, instead of offering hundreds of small gadgets to download, it concentrates on a few and includes them all - running news headlines, weather, a clock, a search panel, performance monitor, stock ticker, and panels for monitoring emails as they arrive, as well as keeping a close eye on Ebay auctions.
