Who Is It For: Consumers who have to have the latest hyped-up gadget; the untapped market of consumers without MP3 players; those looking for a feature-heavy MP3 player for fitness or extreme activities

We Like: Gorgeous, superslim design with bright, photo-friendly screen; easy to operate; works seamlessly with iTunes and iTunes Music Store, which has the world's largest selection of music; nimble processor and system performance; no skipping, thanks to flash memory

We Don't Like: Unspectacular battery life; though durable, device scratches easily; pricey in terms of gigabytes per pound; 4GB maximum capacity is not a good fit for many power users; no sought-after extra features such as FM radio; no A/V-out; doesn't work with Camera Connector

Accessories: Better earbud headphones; digital photos; protective case

Judgement: Thanks to its limited capacity, the gorgeous Apple iPod nano isn't for everybody, but it sets the standard for MP3 players to come
