Route 66 Chicago 8000

Route 66 Chicago 8000
Route 66 Chicago 8000 - (Handhelds)

Score: 7.7

The Route 66 Chicago 8000 is a top low cost widescreen sat-nav device. It has a 'Fuzzy' search engine, the display is vibrant and colourful and the menu is easy to navigate. It also has a fast satellite acquisition time, an excellent 'Points of Interest' database and displays safety camera warnings

We Like: Fuzzy search function; fast satellite acquisition time; safety cameras; widescreen display; POI; maps

We Don't Like: No TMC; no Qwerty keyboard; no route simulation; no Bluetooth; basic voice commands

Judgement: The mid-range Route 66 Chicago 8000 model, with its fancy-free design, contains full European maps and a superb 'Fuzzy' search engine to locate destinations faster. The lack of TMC option may be a problem for the purists but you can buy this as an optional extra or go for one of the other Chicago models in the series
