England's Broad suffers shoulder injury

08/11/2009 17:19

KIMBERLEY, South Africa (Reuters) - Fast bowler Stuart Broad's participation in England's Twenty20 international against South Africa on November 13 is in doubt after the 23-year-old suffered an injury to his right shoulder.

The seamer jarred his bowling shoulder while fielding in England's warm-up match against the Eagles in Bloemfontein on Friday.

He was sent for a precautionary scan the day after the match which revealed no major damage but England's management decided not to risk him in any of the remaining warm-up fixtures, against franchise side the Warriors on Sunday and a South Africa A side on Tuesday.

"Broad will continue to be assessed over the next 72 hours when we will be better placed to make a decision on his fitness," England media manger James Avery told Reuters on Sunday.
