LONDON (Reuters) - Prop Andrew Sheridan has been ruled out of England's three November tests and is a doubt for the start of the Six Nations after dislocating his shoulder, his club Sale said Monday.
The 29-year-old suffered the injury when a scrum collapsed during Sale's 27-26 Heineken Cup victory over Cardiff Blues on Friday.
"He's a great presence around our team and he will be missed. It's bad news for Andrew, England and Sale Sharks and we just have to come to terms with it," Sale director of rugby Kingsley Jones told the club's website.
Sale said Sheridan will undergo surgery Wednesday and requires "a full reconstruction of his left shoulder." He is likely to spend four months on the sidelines.
England play Australia on November 7 at Twickenham before taking on Argentina and New Zealand, while the Six Nations gets underway on February 7.
