Clijsters wins U.S. Open crown

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Belgian Kim Clijsters defeated Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 7-5 6-3 to win the U.S. Open title on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Clijsters became the first mother to win a grand slam crown since Evonne Goolagong triumphed at Wimbledon in 1980.
