ST MORITZ, Switzerland (Reuters) - Austria’s Michaela Dorfmeister celebrated the 23rd World Cup win of her career on Friday with an assured performance in the St Moritz super-G.
Racing in her final season before retirement, the 32-year-old World Cup champion tore down the Corviglia course to win in one minute 17.20 seconds.
Slovenia’s Tina Maze took second place, missing out on what would have been her first super-G win by 0.40 seconds.
Dorfmeister’s 22-year-old team-mate Nicole Hosp finished third, a further 0.16 seconds back, for her first podium place in a World Cup speed event.
