LONDON (Reuters) - Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel will not take another penalty for the club this season after having two saved in a 1-1 draw against Fulham.
Colombian Angel’s two second-half spot-kicks on Wednesday were kept out by Dutchman Edwin van der Sar at Craven Cottage.
"One thing’s for sure -- he won’t take another penalty again this season," said Villa first team coach Roy Aitken.
"I can’t believe he took the second penalty. There were two or three players looking to take it and he should have stepped aside."
Angel had broken his three-month goal drought with a 55th minute opener but his misses from the spot kept him on 49 goals for the Premier League club.
Fulham, who also missed a penalty when Andrew Cole dragged his effort wide, denied Villa three points when Lee Clarke netted deep into stoppage time.

"Juan was very quiet after the game and that’s not surprising. It was great to see him on the scoresheet again, but the penalty misses have cost us dear," added Aitken.
Angel, who signed a new four-year contract with Villa in the close season after joining from Argentina’s River Plate for 9.5 million pounds in 2001, has netted just four league goals this season.
The 29-year-old, who underwent keyhole surgery on his right knee in June, had gone 13 games without a goal until his strike against Fulham.
Villa remained in 11th place in the Premier League, while Fulham moved down two places to 15th.
