How do I get started?
Tiscali's shopping centre is the best place to start. You can go to any zone to check out the current most popular sellers, or find bargains. On every page you will find a searchbox where you can track down specific items available at particular shops.

My order was not confirmed by email. What do I do?
You should receive confirmation of your order by email within one working day. If you do not receive it, the order may not have been placed for you. You need to contact the merchant, by phone or by email. If you use a number of email addresses, check you are looking in the right mailbox.

Why do I need to register with every shop before I can buy something?

This will enable merchants to process your order much more quickly when you return to the site in future. Most merchants allow you to browse without registering, but when you get to the transaction stage they will require you to register. Not all the information is compulsory, look for asterisks or similar when you are filling out the registration.

If I register, will I be bombarded with emails?
It is a requirement of registration forms that you are allowed to 'opt out' of receiving promotional emails. If you do receive promotional emails that you do not want, there will be a quick way to 'unsubscribe' detailed at the top or the bottom of the email, so you won't get any more.

If I enter my credit card details, can they be used again without my consent?
This is fraud and is against the law. You can check that it is not happening by printing out order confirmations and matching them against your credit card statements. If your credit card account is available to you online, you can check right away before too much time has gone by. In practice, when buying from reputable merchants, this is extremely rare and would be rectified immediately if it occurred in error.

If I enter my credit card details, then could a hacker get hold of them?
Credit card details are not stored by merchants unless you give explicit permission (usually this is a 'quick-buy' function to save you retyping the number each time). When the transaction is made, the number is encrypted. Only a few small sites will not have encryption abilities. You will be shown a message when you enter an encrypted area, and a padlock or key symbol will be visible on the pages. When credit card details are stored by merchants, they are on a secure server.
