The object pronouns shown above are also used to mean to me, to us, etc., except:
Pronoun objects (other than loro) usually precede the verb:
When used with an infinitive (the verb form given in the dictionary), the pronoun follows and is attached to the infinitive less its final e: voglio comprarlo (comprare) I want to buy it Subject pronouns (io, tu, egli, etc.) are often omitted before verbs, since the verb ending generally distinguishes the person:
Lei is the polite form for you; voi is the plural form. Tu, the familiar form for you, should only be used with people you know well, or children. |
