With the Single European Market, goods within the EC are allowed to travel freely. Businesses supplying goods to VAT-registered EC companies are required to complete a Sales List which accompanies the goods. The VAT (MWST) registration code for Germany is DE followed by the German company's 9-digit number. VAT is paid at the rate of the destination country.
