The nymph of this stonefly shows the two tail appendages typical of the group. It is found in stony rivers, mainly in N and W Britain. Nymphs are sometimes seen clinging to stones in the water and shed nymphal skins can be found among waterside vegetation from MayJuly after adult has emerged. Adult's yellowish body is shrouded by smoky wings at rest; two appendages project beyond wingtips.
