A well marked caddis fly with grey-brown, hairy wings bearing black lines on forewings. Like all caddis flies, at rest the antennae are held out in front of head. Rather cumbersome larval case constructed from plant material. Adult seen from May­July. Usually associated with upland pools and slow-flowing rivers.
