Body length 22mm

A large and robust stonefly, common in parts of N and W Britain. Nymph lives in fast-flowing stony, upland rivers and streams and adult is sometimes found among waterside vegetation from May­July. Body of adult is mostly dark brown and shows two long tail appendages which project beyond smoky-grey wings when at rest.
