A relatively small caddis fly, associated with fast-flowing streams with stony bottoms. Often extemely common in chalk streams and larval cases, built from small stones, often cover larger pieces of flint. Adult has light brown, hairy wings; emerges in spring and masses often congregate on waterside vegetation.
