Wood Mushroom
Agaricus silvicola
Height up to 10cm

Edible and delicious mushroom found in both deciduous and coniferous woodland, September­November. Smells of aniseed. Cap smooth and white but bruises yellow. Gills and flesh are pinkish. Stem has ring and bulbous base. Locally common.
