The Blusher
Amanita rubescens
Height up to 15cm

Widespread and common fungus of deciduous woodland which appears August­October. Cap is pale buffish brown and covered with pinkish grey fragments of veil. Gills white. Stem has a ring and usually flushes pinkish buff, especially near base.
