Chanterelle Chanterelle
Cantharellus cibarius
Height up to 10cm

Well-known autumn fungus. Edible and delicious, smelling of apricots. The cap is bright yellow and rounded at first but becoming funnel-shaped with age. Gill-like ribs run down stem which is short and tapering. Locally common in woodland.
