Polygonum bistorta
Height up to 60cm

Medium-sized perennial of damp meadows, locally common in the N but rare in the S. Leaves oval or arrow-shaped; borne on unbranched, upright stems. 30­40mm long terminal cylindrical spikes of pink flowers appear June­August. Forms patches.
