Five-bearded Rockling

Length up to 20cm

As name suggests, has five barbels around mouth. Body elongate with long dorsal and anal fins. Common and widespread around coasts of Britain and Ireland. Lives in shallow water on muddy and sandy shores, sometimes in intertidal zone. Can be found by turning over rocks and debris on estuaries and mudflats at low tide.
