Marsh Frog Marsh Frog
Rana ridibunda
Length 6-10cm

Introduced to Romney Marshes, Kent, in 1935 and now well established there and on Lewes Brooks, Sussex. Similar to common frog but usually distinctly greenish; head appears more pointed than common frog and lacks the dark 'mask' seen in that species. Spends most of year in water, favouring ditches and drainage channels. In spring, males are noisy, singing with inflated vocal sacs.
