Laminated Timber


Product made by cutting timber into thin sheets, called veneers, then gluing these sheets back together with their grains at right angles to one another, pressing them together tightly until the glue sets. This makes the timber stronger and more resistant to warping. Types of laminated timber include plywood, blockboard, and laminaboard.

Many laminated boards are covered with a decorative veneer, which is glued to the surface. These laminates are used for kitchen surfaces and specialist surfaces in shops and offices.
