Two Greatest Commandments

In Christianity, the greatest commandment is to love God totally, with heart, mind, and soul, and the second greatest is to love one's neighbour as one loves oneself (Matthew 22:37–40 and Mark 12:28–34). For Christians, these two commandments underline the laws of the Ten Commandments and the teachings of the prophets. They form important statements regarding the nature of Christian love and morality (see Christian ethics).
