In music, a combination of styles; the term usually refers to jazz-rock fusion. Jazz trumpeter Miles Davis began to draw on rock music in the late 1960s, and jazz-rock fusion flourished in the 1970s with bands such as Weather Report (formed in 1970 in the USA) and musicians such English guitarist John McLaughlin.
Other important jazz-rock fusion artists include Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman, and Pat Metheny.
