Cruyff, Johan


Dutch footballer, an outstanding European player in the 1970s. He was capped 48 times by his country, scoring 33 goals, and was a losing finalist in the 1974 World Cup, during which he won Player of the Tournament. He spent most of his career playing with Ajax and Barcelona, and was named European Footballer of the Year three times. As a coach, he took both clubs to domestic and European honours.
