Neighbourhood Unit
In the UK, an area within a new town planned to serve the local needs of families. These units typically have a primary school, a low order shopping centre, a church, and a public house. Main roads form the boundaries. Neighbourhood units were designed to give a sense of community to people migrating to the new towns.
