Cranium of a pre-adult male, dating from 10,00020,000 years ago, found at Talgai station, southern Queensland, Australia. It was one of the earliest human archaeological finds in Australia, having been made in 1886. Its significance was not realized, however, until the work of Edgeworth David and others after 1914. The skull is large with heavy eyebrow ridges and cheekbones.
