The UK forum for economic consultation between government, management, and trade unions.

It examines the country's economic and industrial performance, in both the public and private sectors, and seeks agreement on ways to improve efficiency. It was established in 1962; its role diminished during the 1980s.

Red and white are the national colours, derived from a 13th-century emblem bearing a white eagle on a red field. Effective date: 23 March 1956. >>
