Edible marine snail of the worldwide genus Haliotis, family Haliotidae. Abalones have flattened, oval, spiralled shells, which have holes around the outer edge and a bluish mother-of-pearl lining. This lining is used in ornamental work.

Red represents progress and love. White symbolizes justice and freedom. Green stands for hope and fertility. Effective date: 25 November 1975. >>
