Finnish-born US architect. He was renowned for his wide range of innovative modernist designs, experimenting with different structures and shapes. His works include the US embassy, London (195561); the TWA terminal at John F Kennedy Airport, New York City (195662); and Dulles Airport, Washington, DC (195863). He collaborated on a number of projects with his father, Eliel Saarinen.
