Morrison's extended, melodramatic recitations set against repetitive guitar and organ patterns often gave their music a sinister, sexual quality. His untimely death only enhanced the cult status of the band. Other albums included Strange Days (1967), Waiting for the Sun (1968), and LA Woman (1971). They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
