Ski resort in the Valais (Wallis) canton, Switzerland, altitude 1,620 m/5,315 ft, at the head of the Visp valley and at the foot of the Matterhorn,; population (2000) 5,500. It lies 35 km/22 mi by rail from Visp in the Rhône valley.

Blue stands for peace. Red represents power and faith. Yellow stands for the church, peace, natural wealth, and love. Green symbolizes the land and hope. Effective date: 6 February 1996. >>
