Dictionary of Computers - WAI
WAI
Initiative managed by the World Wide Web Consortium, which aims to address issues relating to the special needs of Web users who have disabilities. The guidelines and techniques that have been produced by the WAI cover Web page content, authoring tools, and browser technology. Issues that are addressed are, for example, special input devices for people with physical disabilities, or aids for designing Web pages for people with visual impairment who may be reading the Web page with a Braille reader or speech output device.
