Dedicated terminal attached to France's teletext system, Teletel, which was launched in 1981 and has millions of users. Many Minitels – most of which have small black and white screens – were installed on free loan by France Telecom to subscribers who opted not to have telephone directories, and the online directory is still the most widely-used Minitel service. Erotic ‘chat lines’ have also proved very popular. Today in France, many PC users access Teletel using software that emulates a Minitel terminal.

The maple leaf is a traditional Canadian emblem. Red recalls Canadian lives lost during World War I. White stands for snow. Effective date: 15 February 1965. >>
