Word
Versatile and powerful word-processing program developed by Microsoft for IBM-compatible and Apple Macintosh PCs. The program began its life as a MS-DOS program in 1983, and a year later it was released as one of the first programs for the Macintosh. The advanced features and ease of use of Version 6.0, released in 1994, established Word as the market leader in its field. A series of enhancements and further versions followed.
