SCSI
One of the methods for connecting peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, and CD-ROM drives) to a computer. A group of peripherals linked in series to a single SCSI port is called a daisy-chain.

SCSIs are common in file servers and high-performance computers. One of the main advantages of a SCSI is that devices attached to it can communicate with each other independently of the CPU. Another important feature is the ability to connect devices that are external to the main computer unit.

The latest SCSI bus has a bandwidth in excess of 640 megabytes.

SCSI is still widely used for large-capacity storage devices, but is being replaced by USB and Firewall connections in newer peripherals such as digital camcorders, scanners, and smaller-capacity storage devices.
