1. Who is Tiscali?

Tiscali S.p.A. (Borsa Italiana, Milan: TIS) is one of the main independent European telecommunication companies. With one of the largest and most interconnected IP networks in the world, Tiscali is able to supply its customers, residential and business, with a full range of services: Internet access, both dial-up and ADSL, voice, VoIP, media, value added services (VAS), and other technologically advanced products. Tiscali has 4.5 million active users and 2.07 million broadband customers in five countries, Italy, UK, Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic.

Group revenue was 736 million Euro in 2005 and the company has returned revenue of 413 million Euro in H1 06

UK

The UK business was founded in 2001 following the acquisition of Worldonline (NL), Liberty Surf (Fr) and LineOne (UK).

Tiscali UK is 3rd largest DSL broadband providers in the UK with 1.2 million broadband customers of which 350,000 already take both voice and broadband.

Tiscali UK's turnover was 325 million Euro in 2005.

Tiscali UK's media portal offers 22 channels and over 40,000 pages of content, which receives over six million unique visitors a month.

Tiscali UK was the first ISP to break the £20 barrier for broadband and the first to offer broadband for the price of dialup.

Tiscali UK began its investment in Local Loop Unbundling in 2005 - one of the first new-wave unbundlers in the UK.

2. What services does Tiscali provide?

Tiscali provides broadband, narrowband and telephone services nationally in the UK and currently offers 2Mb at £14.99 and up to 8Mb at £17.99.

Tiscali Talk provides low cost telephone either alone or bundled with broadband - 350,000 of Tiscali's customers take both services.

Mary Turner, CEO Tiscali UK

As CEO of Tiscali UK, Mary Turner is responsible for all UK operations, including access, media, Tiscali Business Services and Tiscali's IP networks and infrastructure.

Ms Turner led the integration of strategic acquisitions Liberty Surf, World Online, LineOne, Tiny ISP and Gateway ISP and the acquisition of npower's voice business in September 2003, merging these differing companies within Tiscali's established brand.
/br> Mary has been in the ISP business since 1994 when she was General Manager UK (ISP and Portal) and Vice-President Marketing Europe for AOL Bertelsmann/Compuserve Information Services. In this role she developed and implemented the marketing strategy of Compuserve taking it to number one brand position.

In 1999 she became CEO of LineOne, a joint venture between BT and United Media, and led the sale of the business to Tiscali in 2001 where she remained as Managing Director until her appointment as CEO in September 2003.

Mary has taken Tiscali to the third largest DSL broadband provider in the UK with 1.2 million broadband customers and a turnover of £325 million in 2005. Tiscali UK now represents just under half of the Group revenue and over half of its broadband base.
