Tiscali UK forms part of Tiscali SpA., headquartered in Cagliari, Italy. The UK company was launched in July, 2001 following the acquisitions of Liberty Surf, World Online and LineOne. Tiscali UK also acquired Tiny and Gateway ISPs ands more recently Video Networks Limited in 2006 to enable it to provide Triple Play broadband, telephone and home entertainment IPTV and Video on Demand services. The company's most recent acquisition was the Pipex broadband and telephone business in September 2007 including the Pipex Internet, Pipex Homecall, Toucan, Bulldog, Freedom2Surf and Nildram brands.

Providing broadband, dialup, telephone and TV services to over three million customers of which 1.8 million are broadband customers, Tiscali UK is positioned within the UK market as the 3rd largest DSL broadband provider.

Tiscali UK's media portal offers 25 channels and over 55,000 pages of content, which receives over 6.7 million unique visitors a month.

Tiscali UK was the first ISP to challenge the high price of broadband in the UK market, introducing 'broadband for the price of dialup' in 2003.

Tiscali UK began its investment in Local Loop Unbundling in 2005 - one of the first new-wave unbundlers in the UK.

What services do Tiscali provide?

Tiscali provides broadband, narrowband, TV and telephone services nationally in the UK.

Tiscali TV is available from £15.99 per month and is one of the most complete digital offerings in the UK with 80+ channels. Subscribers to Tiscali TV also have access to extensive 7-day Catch Up and hundreds of hours of on demand comedy, drama, factual and kids' programming as well as the UK's largest on demand movie and music services. The Tiscali+ digital recorder, allowing viewers to pause, record and fast forward live TV, is also available at a one off cost of £50.00.

Tiscali Talk provides low cost telephone services including free line rental and competitive voice packages. Tiscali talk is available either alone or bundled with broadband and TV services. 884,000 of Tiscali's customers take double play services. Mary Turner, CEO Tiscali UK

As CEO of Tiscali UK, Mary Turner is responsible for all UK operations, including access, media, Tiscali Business Services and Tiscali's IP networks and infrastructure and Pipex brands.

Ms Turner led the sale of LineOne to Tiscali in 2001 and having joined as managing director of the Tiscali consumer business, led the integration of the business with Tiscali's previous acquisitions Liberty Surf and World Online. Additional strategic acquisitions followed quickly with Tiny ISP and Gateway ISP and the acquisition of npower's voice business in September 2003.

More recently, Tiscali acquired Video Networks Limited in August 2006 to establish Tiscali as provider of TV services and the Pipex broadband and voice business in September 2007 to cement the company in the UK broadband top tier with over three million customers of which 1.8 million are broadband, giving Tiscali 14% market share.

Ms Turner has been in the ISP business since 1994 when she was General Manager UK (ISP and Portal) and Vice-President Marketing Europe for AOL Bertelsmann/Compuserve Information Services. In this role she developed and implemented the marketing strategy of Compuserve taking it to number one brand position. In 1999 she became CEO of LineOne, a joint venture between BT and United Media, leading the sale to Tiscali.

Mary has taken Tiscali to the third largest DSL broadband provider in the UK with 1.8 million broadband customers and a turnover of 608.7 million Euros in 2007.
