Satisfaction was measured as a combination of value for money, shopping experience, staff and comparison to the competition.
It may surprise some to see Aldi and Lidl supermarkets placed well above the likes of Sainsburys and Tescos.
Paul Foley, Aldi's UK chief said: "If you offer the consumer the lowest prices and the highest quality, then you shouldn't be surprised that we take the market share."
