Teenage kicks

Teenage kicks

It was a not-so happy birthday for Sarah Ruscoe last week when over 2,000 people crashed her 18th birthday party.

Radio One DJ Pete Tong had put a 'shout out' live on air for the party giving details of the village.

It took police with dogs to clear the thousands of uninvited teens out of the family's Grade II listed mansion.

We take a look at some teenage parties that have made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Land down under

Earlier this year Australian teenager Corey Delaney hit the headlines when 500 people turned up to his house party and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage after his parents went on holiday.

"Best party ever, that's what everyone's saying," said the unrepentant teen who announced he was giving up his carpentry training to become a party organiser.

MySpace, my party

17-year-old Rachael Bell was arrested last April for hosting a "let's trash my house" party in county Durham. The guests did over twenty thousand pounds worth of damage to the house and had to be dispersed by police.
The sixth-former claimed that her MySpace page was hacked into and denies posting an open invitation.

Church hell

Natalie Allen had invited 80 people to her 14th birthday party in a church hall in Lancashire. By the time she arrived there were over 500 people there. A burger van had even set up outside to provide catering. Five patrol cars were called and four people were arrested. Natalie claims that she had only told a "few people on MSN."

When in Rome

Robert and Julia Anscomb came home from a night out to discover their house had been turned into a "Roman orgy" when over 100 people had turned up to their 15-year-old daughter Gemma's party that she'd advertised on Bebo. "There were red lights put up in the rooms, whips and masks on the walls..." said one reveller. Mrs Anscomb discovered that the family dog had been fed drugs and Gemma had done a runner to her father's house.
