A drug dealer found with heroin worth £6.5 million has been jailed for 23 years.

Wayne Wright, 43, from Bournemouth, Dorset, admitted conspiracy to supply the drug and was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court.

Wright was caught with 276lb of high purity heroin at Fleet Services in Hampshire in October.

According to the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), the drug was worth £6.5 million.

He had first been arrested in September last year and found with £160,000 in cash stuffed in the boot of his car.

Two other men were also jailed at Kingston Crown Court for conspiracy to supply heroin.

Edison Turay, 34, from Tulse Hill, south London, was sentenced to 12 years and Leonard Sylvester Morgan, 40, from Hendon, north London, was jailed for 18 years.

They met up with Wright and collected 8.8lb (4kg) of the drug, said a Soca spokesman.

Detective Inspector Grant Johnson said on Friday: "All three of these men have previous convictions for serious drugs offences, and we are pleased that this has been reflected in today's sentencing.

"We will not tolerate the use and supply of Class A drugs and we continue to tackle any organised criminal networks involved in this highly illegal activity."
