LONDON (Reuters) - Superhero caper "Iron Man" maintained its steely grip on the UK box office for a third week, according to Screen International.
Starring Robert Downey Jr as the weapons manufacturer with a conscience and Gwyneth Paltrow as his assistant, the film took another 1.9 million pounds for a 13 million pound total.
"What Happens in Vegas," with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher as a couple living with the bittersweet consequences of a quickie marriage in Las Vegas, stayed in second place.
Unchanged at three was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," an Hawaii-based romantic comedy with Russell Brand playing a rock star alongside Jason Segal and Kristen Bell.
"Nim’s Island" was up one place at four, with "Little Miss Sunshine" star Abigail Breslin stretching critics’ credulity to the limit as a young girl living on a desert island.
Down one place at five was "Speed Racer," a big-screen version of the 1960s TV series, while romantic comedy "Made of Honour" with "Grey’s Anatomy" heart-throb Patrick Dempsey as a playboy agonising over marriage, was up one at six.
At seven, down one place, was post-apocalyptic science fiction thriller "Doomsday" while gangster movie "In Bruges" was unchanged at eight.
