LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Costume Designers Guild was in a royal mood, honouring "The Queen" and "Elizabeth I" at its ninth annual awards ceremony over the weekend.
The awards went to Consolata Boyle for "The Queen" and Mike O’Neill for "Elizabeth I."
Both the Miramax Films feature and the HBO miniseries starred Oscar-nominated actress Helen Mirren, who received the guild’s Distinguished Actor Award at the Beverly Wilshire on Saturday.
"The Queen" will compete for the costume design Oscar on Sunday, along with "Curse of the Golden Flower," "The Devil Wears Prada," "Dreamgirls" and "Marie Antoinette."
