2002 saw the Queen celebrate her Golden Jubilee. The country was given a special Bank Holiday to celebrate and it was hoped that the event would be marked by the same numbers of crowds that had turned out for her Silver Jubilee.
However times had moved on and crowds could be counted in their thousands rather than millions.
